The blog is back!!!

We were busy all last term with writing a book about football in the community and we hardly had time for anything else, but now the blog is back!

Last term, in English, we read about World War I and this term we are reading a book about World War II. We learned why Australia got involved in all the fighting in the first place. We also studied what happened in Gallipoli and imagined what life would have been like in the trenches.

In maths, we are still learning how to make budgets for all sorts of things. Last term, we started working on percentages.

In history, we continue studying immigration to Australia, or, in other words, how did all these whitefellas end up here?! We already know who the First Australians were and where the first lot of whitefellas came from. We have also learned that lot of Chinese people starting moving to Australia when they found gold in the south.

In science, we have been focusing on ocean currents, the water cycle and climate change and we are about to start a big project on how the climate change might affect our little town of Wadeye.

Good times ahead!
